What about menstruation and prayer?

During menstruation and postnatal bleeding, the prescribed daily prayers are not performed, and those prayers are not made up afterward. After the bleeding ends under the applicable rules, ghusl is performed before returning to prayer.
Irregular bleeding is a separate category and does not always suspend prayer. Duration limits, habitual patterns, and the treatment of interruptions differ substantially across schools.
Keep a clear record of dates and times and consult someone trained in your school. The detailed purification chapter presents Hanafi rulings; it should not be applied indiscriminately to all four schools.
