YOUR DATA

Privacy & saved learning

Salah Guide works without an account. Your learning progress, bookmarks, review list, theme, selected school and saved prayer-time settings are kept in this browser. Clearing browser storage removes them. Use the saved-progress backup to transfer learning to another device.

Location and maps

The prayer-times page requests an approximate city from api.ipapi.is using your internet connection. Precise device location is requested only when you choose “Use precise location.” A city-name lookup uses BigDataCloud; detailed maps load OpenStreetMap tiles. These services receive the information needed to answer those requests. The site does not save the returned IP address.

Choose a city or enter coordinates instead of sharing precise device location. Prayer calculations run in your browser, and saved location settings remain on this device. Location coordinates are not included in the learning backup.

Usage measurement

The public site uses Google Analytics and hosting performance measurement. Salah Guide’s analytics records page views and a small set of actions, such as completing a practice or a location lookup succeeding. These events do not include coordinates, typed search text or the contents of bookmarks. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in the site’s configuration.

Downloads and offline reading

Backups and calendar files are created on your device. Calendar exports contain the selected location’s calculated schedule. “Save this page offline” stores a copy of that page and the site files needed to read it in this browser; it does not download every recording or third-party map. Use “Clear offline pages” below to remove these saved copies.
