Remember the larger journey

Pray with the seriousness of someone who may not have another opportunity. Remember that life ends and that every person will stand before Allah. This awareness can cut through concerns that felt urgent a moment earlier.

Develop belief in the Hereafter outside prayer: accountability, Paradise, punishment and the return to Allah. In congregation, the rows can remind you of being presented before Him. Do not confuse a reflective reminder with an additional ritual requirement.

Hold this seriousness together with hope in Allah’s mercy and longing to meet Him. The purpose is honest worship and preparation, not despair or speculation about your ultimate fate.
