DURING PRAYER

Settle in every posture

Give standing, bowing, rising, prostration and sitting their proper stillness. The Prophet ﷺ taught a man who rushed to repeat his prayer and to come to rest in each posture. Calmness is therefore more than a decorative improvement.

Avoid pecking quickly through prostrations, unnecessary glances and fidgeting. Stand fully after bowing and sit properly between prostrations. Learn the precise requirements and classifications of these actions in your school.

Lengthen private voluntary worship when able, especially when the heart is receptive. Keep its standing, bowing and prostration meaningful and balanced. When leading others, accommodate the weak, ill and those with responsibilities; the aspiration to devotion must not become hardship for them.

REFLECT & PRACTICE

Bring understanding into practice.
