Know what you are saying

Words become anchors when their meanings are known. Learn the opening takbir, al-Fatihah, the praises in bowing and prostration, the testimony and closing supplications in short sections. Reflect on both what you say and whom you address.

Tasbih declares Allah free of defect; praise acknowledges His perfection and His gifts; testimony affirms His oneness and the Messenger’s ﷺ servitude and mission. Requests for guidance and forgiveness express genuine dependence.

Study outside the prayer, then recall the meaning while reciting the established Arabic. An explanatory paraphrase is a study aid, not a replacement recitation.
