DURING PRAYER
Return after wandering thoughts
Whispers may bring forgotten tasks, worries or doubts into prayer. Do not conclude from their arrival that attention is impossible. Notice the diversion, leave it without following its story, and return to the words you are reciting.
Seek Allah’s protection from Shaytan. A Prophetic instruction for disturbing whispers includes seeking refuge and lightly dry-spitting to the left three times; do not spit toward another worshipper or soil the mosque. Learn its application carefully for your setting. Suppress yawning where possible, and cover the mouth if needed.
Understanding the words, preparation outside prayer and a settled pace support this effort. Persist without making every intrusive thought into a new legal doubt. Questions about certainty, repeated doubts and mistakes belong to the school-specific rulings.
Which idea can you carry into your next prayer? Choose one small change, then reflect on what it helped you notice.
