BEFORE PRAYER
Protect the prayer time
Build the day around prayer rather than repeatedly leaving it until the last possible moments. Preparing before the time enters makes space for calm worship. Unnecessary delay can lead to hurried movements and very little remembrance.
Congregational prayer has great merit. Aim to reach the opening takbir where appropriate, without rushing or harming others. The legal status of congregation, valid excuses and the preferred arrangements for different worshippers require school-specific guidance.
The aim is prompt, attentive prayer, not an inflexible rule that ignores the Sunnah’s qualifications. Some prayers have recommended timing details, and urgent bodily needs should be addressed without allowing the prayer time to expire.
Which idea can you carry into your next prayer? Choose one small change, then reflect on what it helped you notice.
