WORDS & REMEMBRANCE
After Salah: remain with remembrance
Begin by seeking forgiveness three times, then acknowledge Allah as al-Salam, the source of peace, and praise His majesty and honor. Follow with the established affirmations of His oneness, sovereignty, praise and power; acknowledge that no one can withhold His gift or supply what He withholds.
A further remembrance joins the testimony to His oneness with dependence on His power, exclusive worship and gratitude for His gifts and favor. Other transmitted requests ask help in remembering, thanking and worshipping Him, and protection from miserliness, cowardice, infirm old age, worldly trial and punishment of the grave. Placement of some supplications has recognized interpretations; follow the practice taught in your school.
One reported counting pattern is Subhanallah 33 times, Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu akbar 33 times, completed by the affirmation of Allah’s oneness, sovereignty, praise and power. Another reported pattern uses 34 takbirs; do not blend distinct counts into a newly required formula.
Recite Ayat al-Kursi (2:255) and al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq and al-Nas as taught in the post-prayer remembrances. Learn their exact text and any prayer-specific repetitions. Remaining briefly for dhikr helps carry worship into the rest of the day; it does not require completing every alternative in a single sitting.
