Ghusl

A full ritual bath is required after specific states of major ritual impurity, including sexual intercourse, qualifying sexual discharge, and the completion of menstruation or postnatal bleeding. Tayammum

Dry purification is a concession when water is unavailable or its use would cause qualifying harm. It is not simply an alternative chosen for convenience.
