TAHAJJUD
Keep devotion free of self-admiration
Private worship can protect sincerity, but it can also become a source of ʿujb—being impressed with your own achievement. If you look down on people who slept or feel entitled to praise because you prayed, the heart’s purpose needs correction.
Thank Allah for enabling worship and ask Him to accept it. Do not announce your routine merely to be admired, and do not assume another person’s circumstances or standing with Allah.
Maintain a realistic portion and return after a missed night. A missed regular portion of recitation can be read between Fajr and Dhuhr, as described in a Prophetic report. Make-up prayers and Witr have additional school-specific details; recitation and prayer must not be conflated.
Choose one achievable change for your next night. Preserve the obligations and build consistency gradually.
