Opening takbir

Allahu akbar declares Allah’s greatness above everything competing for attention. Your work, worries, possessions and the approval of people cannot be more important than the One before whom you are praying.

Say it knowingly rather than merely using it as a signal to begin moving. Let it renew reverence at later transitions too. Allah’s greatness is not a comparison that places Him within the limits of His creation.
