PRAYER MEANINGS
Between two prostrations
Sit upright and settled after the first prostration. Rabbi-ghfir li means asking your Lord to forgive you. Longer transmitted wording asks for forgiveness, mercy, wellbeing, guidance and provision.
Recall your need to be pardoned for specific failures, without losing hope or turning the interval into an anxious review. It is a distinct moment of supplication, not an empty pause before the next movement.
The second prostration renews the same submission and nearness. Its repetition is part of the prayer’s method; it is not dependent on whether you felt satisfied with the first.
Which idea can you carry into your next prayer? Choose one small change, then reflect on what it helped you notice.
