Prostration: humility and nearness

Sujud places the highest and most honored part of the body low before Allah. Subhana rabbiyal aʿla praises your Lord as Most High. The contrast between your lowering and His exaltedness expresses servitude and strips away self-importance.

A Prophetic report describes the servant as nearest to the Lord in prostration and encourages supplication there. Ask with humility, particularly in voluntary prayer, using established supplications and the wording rules of your school. Do not turn this nearness into a physical picture of Allah.

Other remembrances acknowledge the Creator who fashioned the face and granted sight and hearing, ask forgiveness of every kind of sin, and seek refuge in His pleasure from His anger and in His pardon from punishment. Glorify and supplicate; do not recite Qur’an as Qur’anic recitation in sujud.
