Bowing: a pillar of glorification

Ruku lowers the body before Allah while proclaiming His greatness. Subhana rabbiyal ʿazim declares your Lord, the Magnificent, free from imperfection. Let the words correct pride and the posture express dependence.

Longer transmitted praises speak of dominion, might, majesty and holiness, or declare that hearing, sight, mind, bones and nerves submit to Him. Settled glorification—not hurried movement—is the heart of this moment. Qur’an is not recited as Qur’anic recitation in bowing.
