BEFORE PRAYER

Remove one distraction

Attend to hunger when food is ready and to the need to use the bathroom before prayer. Choose a quiet, comfortable place; silence the phone; put aside distracting images and clothing patterns; and safely pause urgent tasks such as cooking. Arrange care for a young child when feasible.

Use a sutrah according to the prayer’s circumstances and your school’s guidance. Avoid unnecessary visual distractions and repeated phone checks between obligatory and sunnah prayers. A suitable temperature and comfortable clothing can also help attention.

Learn the fiqh of common mistakes so uncertainty about validity does not consume your prayer. Remove distractions within the available time: preparation must not become a reason to miss the prayer. Choose the interruption that most often affects you and solve that first.

REFLECT & PRACTICE

Which idea can you carry into your next prayer? Choose one small change, then reflect on what it helped you notice.

Bring understanding into practice.

Move between the inner meaning and the practical method of prayer.
